When you earn enough growth points you receive a random avatar badge (male or female lucky dip style) and this avatar will grow with your learning. The goal is to power up and grow into adult form and perhaps even gain wizard status.
You may receive reward points for excellent results in quizzes.
When you think you have really helped other students on a particular skill or knowledge set, you tick the box next to your name and later before the end of the lesson the students You helped, and/or the teacher, must agree and possibly be able to explain how they were helped. If they agree they were significantly helped they tick the peer box and teacher ticks teacher box.
The teacher reserves the right to veto any student decisions.
As you power up the chart you must help peers more, most people probably will not get to fully grown. Why? Because you are in 7 ICT and there is lots to learn and lots of time to practise.
IMPORTANT: When providing help DO NOT DO IT FOR THEM. First check what they do know and give help through guiding questions. They probably know more than you think and you don’t want to do it for them and decrease their learning (that is not the aim).
